Thursday, August 6 - Sing for a Better Future

Music that Makes Community invited us to join them to share a virtual Earth-Honoring singing celebration with The BTS Center.  We shared the following songs:

  • Mitakuye oyasin (Dakota for "All My Relations") by Hamid Daniel Kirchof - Listen to the song and Hamid's story of how it came to be.
  • Tubwayhun l’makikhe d’hinnon nertun arha by Neil Douglas Klotz - 3rd Beatitude of Jesus in Aramaic:  Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.  See more about the translation work of Douglas-Klotz at http://abwoon.org/.

We were invited by the Kaleidoscope Institute to provide an Opening and Closing session to a day of their 9-day long Summer Institute.  Friday they interviewed Rev. Becca Stevens who founded Thistle Farms, a social enterprise whose motto is "Love Heals" and focuses on women survivors.
