Songs from Asian Grief (Feb 3) & Re(center)ed (Feb 4)

In early February Good Trouble added song to two events for healing and grief, the Asian Grief Song Circle at Springboard for the Arts on Friday, February 3, 2023 and Jayson Randal's re(center)ed community healing installation at Art Shanty Projects on Saturday, February 4.  We are sharing a combined list of songs since there's a bit of overlap.   In no particular order by title:

Thank you to the crew who sang with us last night!  The right people were there, tenderness and support were shared.  Community was tended.  This is part of the dream Liz and Conie are working towards!

We'll be back on April 3, 2023, the first Monday of the month through June for sure.  We'll evaluate after that and figure out next steps.  Let us know if you have opinions!

Songs from the Subzero Singalong at Art Shanty Projects

It's seems appropo to release the list of songs we sang at the Subzero Singalong (Saturdays, January 21 & February 4) at Art Shanty Projects on the day Mni'sota is digging out from a deep snowfall!  

You need good SNO SHANTIES* to sing while you shovel, don't you?

Here's a list of the Shanties we adapted with some of our favorite verses. Go to the link to see all of our verses and to let us know if more verses found you while on snow duty!

* Shanties are work songs so a group, say on a ship, could work in time together. A leader would spool out the first line and everyone would echo it back.
